Insurance and wealth management services provider National Financial Partners Corp. on Tuesday appointed Anne Long as president of NFP Life.

In her new position, Long will oversee all of New York-based NFP's life insurance businesses. In addition, Long will serve as a member of the advisory board of PartnersFinancial, NFP's life insurance membership organization.

Reporting directly to NFP's president and COO Douglas Hammond, Long has oversight responsibility for all strategic and operational decisions for NFP's life businesses and will continue to focus on developing and improving the strategic alignment of its various complementary life resources, according to the company.

"Anne has broad expertise in the life insurance industry and a comprehensive understanding of NFP's culture based on her history with the company," Hammond said in a prepared statement.

From 1998 to 2004, Long served as the executive vice president of NFP Insurance Services Inc. and was a member of the PartnersFinancial advisory board. Since 2004, Long has operated her own strategic and operational consulting business, Long Consulting Group.

The company has also promoted Mike James to president of PartnersFinancial. He will also continue as chief sales officer for the company.

James has held sales roles within NFP, most recently as senior vice president of NFP Insurance Services and chief sales officer of PartnersFinancial. He will continue to focus on recruiting and sales and marketing for PartnersFinancial and will report directly to Long.
