A longtime Birmingham, Ala.-based family practice with about $180 million in advisory and brokerage assets has joined LPL Financial’s broker-dealer and corporate registered investment advisor custodial platforms, LPL announced today.

Hendrix Group Financial Services joins from Securities Service Network, part of the Advisor Group network of broker-dealers.

The team includes brothers Tim Hendrix and Brad Hendrix, Sr., and Brad's son, Brad Hendrix, Jr., all of whom are partners in the firm and financial advisors. They are joined by Brad Sr.'s daughter, office manager Lindsey Burns, and Tim and Brad Sr.'s sister, administrative assistant Sandra Bailey. Previously known as the Financial Service Center of Alabama, the Birmingham-based practice rebranded as Hendrix Group Financial Services in 2017, according to a press release.

Brad Hendrix, Sr., who played in the National Football League in the late 70s as an offensive lineman with the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers prior to launching his career as a financial advisor, described the practice as faith based. “We believe that as Christians, we are called to help people," he said. "Our goal is for our clients to walk out feeling better than when they came in.”

The elder Hendrix said his team began searching for a new partner after their former broker-dealer was sold. “We have not changed broker-dealers in 32 years, and we hope to never change again," he said, adding that his firm believes LPL can it to the next level. “The integrated technology in ClientWorks will really enhance our ability to serve clients with excellence. We love that we can pull client reports, make trades and open new accounts, all within the same application without having to go in and out of windows.”

Rich Steinmeier, LPL Financial managing director and divisional president, business development, said they are proud to partner with Hendrix Group Financial Services. “This family-run business has developed many enduring relationships over the years. We understand how the value of those personal connections contributes to the overall strength of their firm."

LPL Financial, headquartered in Fort Mill, S.C., San Diego and Boston, is the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer.
