Anchor Capital Advisors LLC, an investment management firm headquartered in Boston, has promoted Diane DeBono Schafer to chief operating officer (COO) and Jennifer K. DeSisto to sole chief investment officer (CIO).
The company also added analyst Neeraj Mahajan to its investment management team, the company announced in a news release.
In addition to her new role as COO, DeBono Schafer will continue to serve in her current position of Anchor’s chief compliance officer (CCO). As both COO and CCO, she will oversee the firm’s operations, trading, compliance, administration and technology.
DeBono Schafer, who joined Anchor Capital in 2011, has over 25 years of managerial experience. She previously worked at Trillium Asset Management as director of operations.
As CIO, DeSisto oversees an investment team of nine portfolio managers and analysts. As portfolio manager, she will also continue to lead the All Cap Value and Balanced Value portfolios, two of Anchor’s legacy strategies, the company said.
DeSisto joined Anchor Capital in 2011 before being promoted to co-CIO last year. She was formerly a portfolio manager with Fiduciary Trust Company in Boston.
DeSisto received a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from Carnegie Mellon University, and a master's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloane School of Management.
Mahajan, with 15 years of experience in financial services, technology and consulting, will be responsible for equity research for the All Cap Value and Balanced Value strategies. He previously worked with Rapid7 as head of investor relations.
Mahajan earned a master's degree in investment management from Boston University – School of Management, and master's degree from Dartmouth College – The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
