Calvert Research and Management, a subsidiary of Eaton Vance Corp., announced that Anne L. Richardson has joined the firm as chief operating officer based in Washington, D.C. The role was newly created, and Richardson will report directly to Chief Executive Officer John H. Streur.

In her new role, Richardson will oversee daily operations and monitor investing research systems and processes and their effect on global capital markets.

"We are excited to welcome Anne to Calvert," said Streur in a statement. "She is an accomplished leader who will make significant contributions to Calvert's innovative research processes, intellectual capital and our strategic plan for sustained, long-term growth of Calvert's business."

Richardson joins from Cambridge Associates, where she served as chief operating officer of global investment research. She was previously associated with the Brookings Institution. She earned a B.A. in environmental policy and analysis from Bowling Green State University and an M.A. in international relations from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
