Atlanta-based Homrich Berg has announced a merger with Compass Financial Consulting, a move that allows Homrich to pass the $5 billion mark in assets as well as add offices in Cobb County, Georgia.

Homrich Berg will now have 21 principals and four offices in metro Atlanta. The firm now manages assets for clients in 40 states.

“We are excited to have such a quality firm join HB,” said Andy Berg, co-founder and chief executive officer of Homrich Berg. “We feel comfortable knowing that we share common core values with a clear focus on serving our clients. We are highly confident that this merger will be beneficial to all clients and employees.”

Compass is a fee-only wealth management firm with $240 million in assets under management. Under the terms or the agreement, three new principals (Kevin Kraus, John Bochniak and Tana Gildea) and two client service professionals will join Homrich Berg.

“Homrich Berg has a reputation as a leading firm in the Southeast, and we felt this was the best fit for our team to allow us to continue to grow while serving our clients,” said Kevin Kraus.
