A new app allows direct donations from donor advised funds (DAF) to charitable organizations, Fidelity Charitable announced Tuesday.
Fidelity Charitable and Schwab Charitable, public charities with donor-advised fund programs, developed DAF Direct to simplify giving to charities and nonprofits. The app allows direct transfers of funds to participating charities from a donor’s account. There are no transaction fees.
So far 10 nonprofits are participating: The American Red Cross, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Charity Navigator, Cradles to Crayons, Feeding America, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, Save the Children and WGBH.
DAF Direct can be added to any qualified nonprofit’s Web site. Additional information can be found at www.dafdirect.org.
