The Financial Planning Association
has moved its annual conference later this year from New Orleans to
Nashville, Tenn.
The conference will be held at the Gaylord Opryland
Resort and Convention Center October 21-24. The conference was
originally scheduled for Oct 7-10 at the New Orleans Convention Center.
"After considerable thought and dialogue with
officials at the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau and the New
Orleans Convention Center regarding the impact of the recent hurricanes
to New Orleans and surrounding areas, we have determined that it is in
the best interests of FPA and its members to move our 2006 annual
conference from New Orleans to Nashville," FPA Executive Director and
CEO Marvin W. Tuttle said in a prepared statement.
"FPA continues to have discussions with New Orleans
convention leadership regarding future meeting opportunities for FPA
there in the years ahead," Tuttle added.
The FPA noted the decision will not effect its
ongoing efforts to provide financial planning services to hurricane
victims.
