The American College will launch a three-day series
of lectures and seminars in November that will conclude with the
school's 77th commencement ceremony.
The event will be held in San Francisco November
8-10. The commencement, to be held 2 p.m. November 10 at the Hilton San
Francisco, is expected to include 3,000 graduating students and their
guests, college spokesman Eric Gordon said.
Preceding the commencement will be a series of
lectures and seminars, most of them located at the Westin St. Francis
Hotel.
Among the events will be a presentation by faculty
members Ted Kurlowicz, David Littell and Walt Woerheide on the topic of
"Competitive Retirement and IRA Strategies-The Edge You Need!" The
speakers will focus on strategies for working with clients who have
accumulated significant pension assets.
The 18th Annual Henry A. Deppe Lecture will also be
devoted to pension and retirement security issues. Guest speakers will
include Andrew J. Fair of Fair, Fitzgerald & Hershaft, P.C.;
Stephen W. Forbes of SunGard Relius Education, and Nancy Harms and
Sheila Hickey of Shadow Advisors and IM Advanced Planning &
Professional Services.
The featured speaker at the Richard A. Liddy Lecture
will be Kevin C. Eichner, president and CEO of Enterprise Financial
Services Corp., who will talk about leadership methods and best
practices used by top executives.
Also on the second day of the event, Dave Casper, an
advisor who is a former tight end for the Oakland Raiders and a member
of the NFL Hall of Fame, will be inducted into the college's Alumni
Hall of Fame.
The keynote speaker at the commencement will be
Frederick J. Sievert, chairman of the college board of trustees and
president of the New York Life Insurance Co.
