Fidelity Investments-in what it says is part of a multi-year Internet
initiative-has launched a newly designed Web site for its advisor
clients.
The company says
the site, at advisor.fidelity.com, is modelled after those of major
retailers, with features that include a "shopping cart" for streamlined
ordering of literature and sales materials, expanded practice
management sales and ideas, and podcasts featured on www.itunes.com.
The new design
also offers a single page at which advisors can research fund pricing
and performance information, order fund literature and research related
topics, including complementary funds and Fidelity's White Papers
series.
Users of the Web
site can also customize the content according to their market- and
firm-specific needs, according to Fidelity.
Other additions to
the Web site are planned over the next 18 months, says Martha Willis,
executive vice president of Fidelity Investments Institutional Services
Company.
"While we're very
happy about advisors' initial reaction about these enhancements, our
efforts represent only a fraction of the functional and content
improvements that Fidelity has planned for advisors over the course of
this multiyear project," Willis says.
