Dan Moisand, a financial industry thought leader and frequent contributor to Financial Advisor magazine, has been appointed as the practitioner editor of the Journal of Financial Planning, the Financial Planning Association announced Tuesday.

Moisand is principal and financial planner with Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo in Melbourne, Fla. He is a former Journal of Financial Planning columnist, and a two-time winner of the Journal of Financial Planning’s Call for Papers competition.

In his new role, Moisand will provide guidance to the Journal staff to ensure content published in the Journal is relevant and valuable for financial planning practitioners. He will also will provide original content for the Journal.

The Journal is published monthly and focuses on expanding the body of knowledge in the financial planning profession. It includes articles, interviews, columns and peer-reviewed technical contributions that are directly beneficial to financial planners and their work, the FPA said.
