The former president of Edelman Financial has been hired by DeVoe & Company as a special advisor, DeVoe announced Thursday.

Ed Moore joins DeVoe as a master coach. He will work with the leaders of RIAs that have between $1 billion and $10 billion in AUM and offer them guidance in mergers and acquisitions, said DeVoe, a consulting firm and investment bank serving the RIA industry.

During his 30-year career at Edelman, Moore helped grow the firm from six people into a $230 billion enterprise with 1.1 million clients and 1,400 employees. He led the firm’s organic growth from one office to 45 offices with 150 planners throughout the United States and oversaw the merger of Edelman Financial Services and Financial Engines.

Moore’s “experience leading the largest RIA in the country through massive growth will lend new insight that we can share with our clients,” said David DeVoe, founder and CEO of DeVoe & Company, in a statement.

Moore started his career with Waddell & Reed as a financial advisor. He became a CFP in 1991 and currently serves on the board of directors for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. He joins Tim Kochis, Peggy Ruhlin and Jane Williams in the special advisor role at DeVoe and will provide one-on-one coaching to RIA leaders.
