A former Ameriprise financial advisor has launched a branch through Raymond James Financial Services, the firm’s independent advisor channel in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., the company announced.

Steve Gross, a senior vice president with RJFS Boston Harbor Wealth Advisors, managed more than $165 million in client assets at Ameriprise, where he spent 25 years. Joining him in the New York office are Luigi Muccitelli, senior client service associate, and Rebecca Denham, registered client associate.

Gross said Raymond James had a great balance of attributes, which made them the best candidate to align with. “Being able to run your business the way you truly want to while having an abundance of resources and support feels right," he said in a statement. "I genuinely feel I’m at the right place at the right time, and I look forward to the next chapter with Raymond James and Boston Harbor Wealth Advisors.”

Boston Harbor CEO Matt Davis said it is exciting for Boston Harbor Wealth Advisors to open its first New York office. He noted that the firm recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. “We began as a small team of four advisors managing $100 million and have grown into a business managing $2 billion with 13 offices throughout the Northeast. Steve’s addition illustrates that the Boston Harbor Difference resonates with advisors and provides the resources to help achieve their unique goals.”

Raymond James Financial Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial, Inc., which has about 8,200 financial advisors throughout the U.S., Canada and overseas, and a total of $877 billion in client assets.
