A family of advisors with $300 million in client assets have joined Raymond James Financial Services’ independent advisor channel in Clayton, Mo., according to a company release.

Formerly of UBS, the Mike Brown Financial Group includes Michael “Mike” Brown, his wife Tammy and son Adam. They are joined by Adam’s wife, Victoria Viefhaus, director of communications, and Suzanne Markus, director of client services. The team operates as Mike Brown Financial Group of Raymond James.

Mike Brown, president and CEO, has been in the financial services industry for 26 years. He began working directly with private clients at Prudential Securities in 1994 and moved to UBS Financial Services in 2000. Since 1994, he has hosted The Money Show on KMOX radio station in St. Louis, Mo.

“The combination of having the autonomy to run your own business as well as access to the firm’s broad array of resources and services for our clients is truly the best of both worlds,” Brown said in a statement. “Transitioning during a pandemic presents its unique challenges, but having the best technology we’ve seen and the support offered made our move go as smoothly as possible, despite doing everything remotely,” he added.

The other team members are also veterans of the industry. Tammy Brown also joined Prudential Securities in 1997 and transitioned to UBS in 2000; Adam Brown worked with the Mike Brown Financial Group team at UBS for 13 years and served as a business analyst for the Nestlé Purina PetCare Company. Viefhaus has been in the financial services industry for more than 17 years, previously spending nine years at UBS. She joined the Mike Brown Financial Group in 2017. And Markus, who has been in the financial services industry for 21 years, joined the Mike Brown Financial Group in 2014 while at UBS.

Raymond James Financial Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial Inc., which has about 8,200 financial advisors throughout the U.S., Canada and overseas, and a total of $908 billion in client assets.
