LPL Financial has hired a former TD Ameritrade executive to manage its development and operational management of new products and solutions, according to a release from the company.

In the newly created role, Scott Belous will assume the title of executive vice president for end user experience and will report to Burt White, LPL chief investment officer and managing director for investor and investment solutions. He will be based in New Jersey.

Belous was managing director for digital client experience at TD, where he was responsible for the management and evolution of the retail digital experience across web, native mobile, and conversational platforms, the release said. Prior to that, he was the head of global consumer digital experience at Citi, where he managed U.S. digital product experience across a range of platforms and global digital programs. He spent the prior 19 years with American Express, where he pioneered a variety of digital solutions for consumer and small business card members.

Belous is the latest high-profile departure from TD in recent weeks. TD Ameritrade will be acquired by Charles Schwab later this year and the merger is expected to result in a continued realignment of top executives within the custodian world.

“As we continue to shift our strategy to place more focus on how we support our advisors as they work to deliver a great end-investor experience, we look forward to the impact that Scott and his team will make on the firm for years to come,” White said in a statement.

LPL Financial, headquartered in Fort Mill, S.C.; San Diego; and Boston, is the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer.
