The Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) has named Jason Berkowitz as the new vice president of regulatory affairs and compliance. Berkowitz served on multiple IRI committees and groups in the past, including the federal regulatory affairs committee, state affairs committee and the variable annuity summary prospectus working group. Berkowitz most recently served as the counsel and director of regulatory affairs at Hartford Financial Services Group. Prior to that, he was an attorney in the insurance and reinsurance department at Edwards & Angell, LLP.
IRI, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a not-for-profit organization that promotes consumer confidence in the value and viability of insured retirement strategies, bringing together the interests of the industry, financial advisors and consumers under one umbrella
