Raymond James & Associates (RJA) has recruited one of Morgan Stanley’s youngest branch managers, Chris Fils, 31, to head the broker-dealer’s Suncoast Complex in Florida, the company announced in a press release.

The Raymond James & Associates Suncoast Complex is a part of the eastern division based in St. Petersburg, which comprises the Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch and Venice branches. Tom Walrond manages the region.

In his new role with RJA, Fils will be responsible for overseeing and expanding the branches and providing support to the advisors.

Fils was one of Morgan Stanley’s youngest-ever branch managers and oversaw the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Gatos branch. Prior to that, he worked for Merrill Lynch in New York as a regional sales specialist.

Fils earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of South Florida, where he also earned the certified financial planner certification. He completed the executive education course in business administration and management at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
