Monaco has more ultra-high-net-worth people per capita than any other country-more than double the number of the first runner up, according to Wealth-X.
Monaco has 55 people worth $30 million or more for every 10,000 in population, according to a new survey by Wealth-X, a research organization that focuses on the ultra-high-net-worth market. Liechtenstein comes in second with 20.7 per 10,000 people.
Six of the countries with the most UHNW individuals per capita are in Europe, while three are in Asia.
In third place is Luxembourg with 12.7 per 10,000 population, Switzerland with 7.1, Hong Kong with 4.4, Norway with 2.8, Kuwait with 2.6, Singapore with 2.5, Brunei with 2.5 and Iceland with 2.
"The list reflects the attraction of location, favorable tax policies and security for [ultra-high-net-worth individuals]," said Mykolas D. Rambus, Wealth-X CEO. "Countries that fulfill these conditions are those that see a congregation of ultra-wealthy individuals and should be the focus for professionals who wish to engage with them."
