National Advisors Trust, the nation's largest independent, RIA-owned trust company, announced that James D. Alfred has joined the company as vice president of business development.

Alfred joins National Advisors Trust, based in Overland Park, Kan., to further accelerate the company's growth strategy in the western area, bringing new shareholders to the trust company, and expanding the company's technology, trust and custody services with existing shareholders. Previously, Alfred was vice president of sales for Black Diamond Performance Reporting. He also held senior-level positions at Advent Software, where he co-founded a highly successful client loyalty and satisfaction program.
