Northwestern Mutual, a financial security company headquartered in Milwaukee, is opening a new office in Huntersville, N.C., to serve the greater Lake Norman area, the company reported in a news release.

Overseen by Managing Director Lynn Bowser, the new 13,000-square-foot office at 9713 Northcross Center Court occupies the entire third floor of a Class A office space and is more than 70% larger than the previous Northwestern Mutual office location in North Charlotte.

The new Huntersville office location includes large and small conference areas for meetings and trainings, a wellness room and game room for financial representatives employed there and a kid-friendly room for families with small children. The office décor boasts artwork by local artist Kelly Aiken of Copeley Designs Art, the photography of local artist Rob Walley and functional art glass from artists at Gator’s Glass.

Northwestern Mutual opened its first Charlotte office in 1967 and now has offices in South Park and Ballantyne under Managing Partner Richard Worrell. The Worrell Network manages more than $5 billion in assets in the Charlotte area alone and is the second largest office in Northwestern Mutual’s nationwide network.
