Torrance, Calif.-based EP Wealth Advisors LLC has announced the appointment of Patrick G. Goshtigian to an expanded role as CEO of the firm, where he is already president.

EP Wealth is an independent, fee-only registered investment advisor specializing in financial planning and investment management services. Goshtigian took the leadership role in the firm’s acquisition strategy to enhance and expand services to clients.

As of March 31, 2018, EP Wealth said in a statement that, under Goshtigian’s leadership, the firm now advises on more than $3.6 billion in client assets.

“Patrick has been a valuable asset to our team for the better part of a decade, and his knowledge of the industry and management expertise have been of significant benefit to EP Wealth,” said Derek Holman, the firm’s co-founder and managing director, in a statement. Goshtigian “is leading our vision for growth, and his decision-making is key to integrating firms that share our core client-centric philosophy into the EP Wealth family. It’s been a win-win for our clients and our company.”

Goshtigian helped with the acquisition of Moore Financial Group in Littleton, Colo., in January 2015. Lafayette, Calif.-based Ballou Plum Wealth Advisors joined EP Wealth in January 2016. The expansion continued with the June 2017 addition of Private Capital Management Associates in San Mateo, Calif.  Millie Capital Management in Walnut Creek, Calif., joined EP Wealth in February 2018.

The firm also forged a strategic partnership with Wealth Partners Capital Group in West Palm Beach, Fla., in July 2017.

“Patrick has spearheaded our acquisition and growth strategy, and he ensured we were well positioned to execute on these objectives over the long term,” said Brian E. Parker, co-founder and managing director. Goshtigian “was the driver behind our new financial partnership with Wealth Partners Capital Group. [He] sorted through multiple deals to find the right partner in WPCG … [which] provides EP Wealth with continuity in leadership and decision-making, supplements our mergers and acquisitions expertise and provides financial resources to help accelerate our firm growth strategy.”

Goshtigian was the head of Nuveen Global Operations in Chicago before joining EP Wealth. He served as managing director and head of institutional operations and administration for the Nuveen Investments Institutional Services Group and held additional roles at NWQ Investment Management Company, a Nuveen Investments affiliate. He was also the vice president with the economic and financial consulting firm Analysis Group.

He earned a master’s of business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles, Anderson School of Management, and he obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Goshtigian holds a chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation.
