Pinnacle Private Wealth is joining Triad Advisors LLC, an independent advisory and brokerage firm based in Atlanta, and bringing $750 million in advisory and brokerage client assets with it, Triad announced Thursday.

Pinnacle, based in Woburn, Mass., is an independent financial advisory firm that provides financial planning, investment and risk management, and retirement planning services for pre-retirees and high-net-worth individuals.

The firm will join Triad’s broker-dealer and hybrid RIA custodial platforms. Triad, a subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc., provides support for independent hybrid financial advisory practices and registered investment advisory firms.

Pinnacle, which has seven financial advisors and three support staff, was previously with LPL Financial Services. The firm was founded by Daniel J. Cotton, managing partner, and Myles Dudley, co-founder, in 2009.

“Pinnacle has grown tremendously in the nine years they have been in business, and they have impressive plans to continue their expansion in the years ahead,” said Nathan Stibbs, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at Triad Advisors. “Pinnacle’s transition extends the strong recruiting results we saw throughout 2017–and have continued to see this year.”

The partnership with Pinnacle extends Triad’s footprint in the Northeast and brings Triad’s partnership additions to seven for the year. The firm added 15 new partners in 2017.

“Our focus is on selectively partnering with high-caliber firms that have substantial growth potential,” Stibbs said. “Our growth is very strategic and methodical. Pinnacle has grown both organically and non-organically since it was founded and we will give them more resources and greater flexibility to continue growing.”

Dudley added, “Our goal is to continue to give Pinnacle advisors access to the technology and the platforms needed to stay ahead in an ever-changing advisory world. Pinnacle aims to be a premier destination for advisors and their clients and this change helps us continue to move closer to that goal.”
