An industry veteran from UBS Financial Services has been hired to lead the South Florida complex for Raymond James & Associates (RJA), the employee advisor channel of parent company Raymond James, the company announced.
Stephen “Steve” Sullivan will oversee RJA branches throughout the South Florida market and lead RJA’s recruitment, retention and support for advisors across Palm Beach County, Broward County, Dade County and Monroe County, the release said.
Sullivan, who is based out of Miami, joined Raymond James on June 1 from UBS, where he served as managing director and market leader of the Coral Gables international branch. He began working in the financial services business in Miami more than three decades ago. Prior to UBS, Sullivan worked at a broker-dealer and asset management firm, the release said.
“South Florida remains an important area for us at Raymond James, given the vast wealth management needs of clients throughout the area. I’m looking forward to working with him as he continues to build upon and grow Raymond James’ strong presence in this important marketplace,” Bert White, Florida regional director for RJA, said in a statement.
Sullivan succeeds Bert White, who was promoted to senior vice president and Florida regional director in late 2019.
“Raymond James has a stellar reputation as a firm that rigorously supports advisors so they can best serve their clients and grow their businesses,” Sullivan said. “The firm really offers advisors the best of both worlds—independence and practice ownership, coupled with high-touch, robust support. It’s a unique offering in our industry and I’m excited about the opportunity to work with such high-caliber financial advisors throughout South Florida.”
Raymond James & Associates Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial Services Inc., which has about 8,100 financial advisors throughout the U.S., Canada and overseas, and a total of $828 billion in client assets.
