Rockefeller Capital Management has recruited the Low Group, a former Merrill Lynch team that managed $340 million in assets under management, according to a release from the company.

The Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based team is led by John Low, who will serve as managing director and private wealth advisor, and includes Kristen Palazeti, vice president and private wealth advisor; Jennifer Byrne, vice president and client relationship manager; and Tori Torango, client associate. The team will report to Brian Riley, managing director of the Pacific Northwest division.

Low, who began his career in the financial services industry in 1995, worked at Prudential and Wells Fargo before spending 11 years at Merrill Lynch, according to his BrokerCheck profile. His focus areas include wealth transfer, asset management, portfolio design and implementation, retirement income replacement strategies and liability/debt structuring.

Palazeti entered the financial services business several years ago after spending her earlier career in strategic planning in the automotive industry, according to the firm's website.

The Low Group marks the 51st firm to join the New York City-based Rockefeller private wealth division since its creation in 2018. Rockefeller offers financial services in 18 cities across five divisions in the U.S.  In the past few weeks, it has added offices in Cincinnati, San Antonio, Newport Beach, Calif., and Denver. Last week it added former New York Yankees star and Miami Marlins CEO Derek Jeter to its board of directors.
