Some of the top scholarships in the financial field follow.

The Richard B. Wagner Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students seeking to complete a CFP Board-registered bachelors or certificate program that would qualify them to sit for the CFP exam. Eligible individuals must reside in the United States, demonstrate financial need, and be part of an under-represented population by virtue of such as gender, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation or be under 35 years old or disabled. It is awarded by the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning and the Financial Planning Association.

David M. King Merit Scholarship is awarded by the College for Financial Planning to an individual who is new to the financial planning field and who shows significant potential and active industry leadership. This scholarship honors the achievements of David M. King, who held the position of board chairman at the College for Financial Planning, the Institute for Certified Financial Planners, and the Certified Financial Planner Board. The scholarship covers all costs associated with enrollment in the college’s CFP Certification Professional Education Program.

The Financial Planning Association Financial Planning Process & Insurance Scholarship is offered by the College for Financial Planning and the FPA. Twelve scholarships are awarded each year to help students to become eligible to sit for the CFP certification examination and earn their CFP certification. When choosing scholarship recipients, the college and FPA recognize individuals who have shown dedication to financial planning and have a commitment to bettering the industry. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be an FPA member or have the endorsement of a current FPA member.

The Financial Planning Association Graduate Studies Program Scholarship was created to reward potential graduate students. The College for Financial Planning and FPA offer 12 scholarships annually covering the application fee and tuition for a single 3-hour graduate course in the College for Financial Planning's Graduate Studies Program. The College and FPA recognize individuals who have shown dedication to graduate topics and have a commitment to bettering their industry.

The Ginger E. Current Professional Designation Merit Scholarship is awarded to students interested in earning one of the College for Financial Planning’s professional designations. The scholarship is in honor of Ginger E. Current and her dedication to the success of the College and the students. In choosing the recipients, the College reviews nominations of individuals who wish to expand their knowledge in personal financial planning. The scholarship covers all costs associated with enrollment in coursework in any of the college’s professional designation programs.

The Financial Planning Association’s Foundations in Financial Planning Scholarship was created to reward outstanding financial planning support staff at the college and FPA. Twelve scholarships designed to expand the knowledge and skills of the assistants are given to cover the costs of the college’s introductory program, the Foundations in Financial Planning Professional designation program.

The NAPFA Genesis Scholarships are given several times a year to individuals pursuing the CFP certification. The scholarships are available to those who do not currently receive financial assistance for the cost of the exam. Genesis members can apply to receive a scholarship, and if selected, upon passing the exam will receive a reimbursement for the exam fee.
