He recommends staying invested but considering protection strategies, especially since the options market has remained relatively calm.

The Cboe Volatility Index, a gauge of expected U.S. price swings known as the VIX, remains well below 20 -- a sign to Galy at Nordea that investors aren’t too worried just yet.

“The question is whether the VIX market is correct in viewing it as a transitory shock,” he said. “We think this is a transitory shock as Iran is too weak for a full confrontation.”
