Two members of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors were recognized for their special contributions to the organization and the financial planning profession, the association announced Thursday.

Bernie Kiely received the Robert J. Underwood Distinguished Service Award in recognition of an outstanding record of service to the organization and the advancement of the practice of fee-only financial planning. 

Kiely is an advisor with Kiely Capital Management in Morristown, N.J. He has been an effective, vocal and staunch advocate of the ideals of fee-only financial planning, and has contributed significantly and consistently to the advancement of the profession through service to the association and his peers, the association says.

The association’s New Professional Award was presented to Danielle Seurkamp of the Asset Advisory Group in Cincinnati. The New Professional Award recognizes the achievements and contributions to the profession of new practitioner members of the association. Seurkamp was nominated for the care she exhibits with clients and for her determination to advance the planning profession.
