Wedbush Securities, an independent diversified financial services firm headquartered in Los Angeles, has appointed Craig Pirtle to the position of senior vice president, head of business development and expansion markets.

Based out of the firm’s New York City office, Pirtle will be responsible for advancement of the firm’s growth strategy, as well as its internal and external development.

"We are thrilled to welcome Craig as the newest member of our Wealth Management division,” Chris Mone, Wedbush executive vice president and head of wealth management, said in a news release. “His expertise and deep insights into the finance industry, understanding of the advisor business from the field level, along with his network of contacts built over a 25-year career, will help to grow our business and complement our efforts to upgrade our current advisor experience.”

An industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Pirtle most recently served as chief strategy officer at B. Riley Wealth Management. He has also held executive roles at Nearside Asset Management Services, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo. 

Pirtle is a U.S. Army veteran who served in the 2nd Infantry Division. He sat on the board of directors of Wounded Warriors Family Support for over 15 years. He is an avid polo player.
