Wells Fargo Investment Institute announced Tuesday it appointed Audrey Kaplan, formerly with Federated Investors Inc., as senior vice president and head of global equity strategy.

WFII is a Wells Fargo division with over 120 strategists and analysts concentrated in alternative investments, options strategy, investment strategy, asset allocation, portfolio management and manager research. Strategies set in WFII are used by Wells Fargo’s investment professionals in its Wealth and Investment business units, which in aggregate have $1.9 trillion in assets under management. The units include Wells Fargo Advisors, Wells Fargo Asset Management, WFII, Abbot Downing, and the Institutional Retirement and Trust.

Kaplan, who will be based in New York City, will be responsible for designing and implementing an equity strategy for WFII, along with communicating the strategy to internal leaders and Wells Fargo’s investment professionals, clients and to the media.

Kaplan has more than 25 years of experience in the global investment industry, and previously was head of the international equity team and senior portfolio manager at Federated Investors.
