A father-son team from Wells Fargo and another team from UBS with $286 million in combined assets under management have joined the employee channel of Ameriprise Financial, according to a news release.

Robert Arthur Bonwell Sr., and Robert Arthur Bonwell Jr., who worked at Wells Fargo in Charleston, W.Va., manage $149 million in client assets. The press release said the pair were attracted to the Ameriprise’s client-centric culture, ability to provide personalized advice to multi-generational families, and the fact that the firm established a new office for them in Charleston. Bonwell Sr. has 55 years of experience. Their team also includes registered client service associate Kellie Keeling, who has served their clients for 34 years.

Jim Buzgo, who manages $137 million in client assets, is based in Boston. He was attracted to Ameriprise’s strong financial planning capabilities and resources to help communicate the value of personalized advice to clients, the release noted. Buzgo’s team also includes registered client service associate Drew London.

Minneapolis-based Ameriprise has a nationwide network of approximately 10,000 financial advisors. The company said more than 4,000 financial advisors have joined since 2008.
