Albert Schiff, a former graduate, is receiving the Huebner Gold Medal. The award is named after the institution's founder, Dr. Solomon S. Huebner, and honors individuals whose support of the college and whose dedication to education and professionalism have been of particular meaning to the institution.

Schiff, an American College Board of Trustee member and Board of Directors chair of the college's foundation, earned his Chartered Life Underwriter designation from American College in 1968 and his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation in 2011. In 2010, he was nominated by his colleagues to become the sixth member inducted into American College's Alumni Hall of Fame. Schiff is currently the chief consulting officer for New York Life Executive Benefits.

American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa., is the nation's largest nonprofit educational institution devoted to financial services and was founded more than 84 years ago.
