“Mr. Iannazzo will always regret his momentary loss of temper at the time of his son’s medical emergency, and this outcome clearly shows the weakness of the case attempted against him,” Glicklich said.

Miranda’s attorney, Timothy Aspinwall, could not be reached for comment.

Iannazzo, who had been with Merrill Lynch since 1996, was immediately fired upon the firm learning about the incident. The CFP Board's Disciplinary and Ethics Commission later suspended him. In March, he was hired by Aegis Capital Corp. in Westport, Conn.
