Rockefeller Capital Management today announced that it has recruited the Hambleton Fieler Group, an eight-member Cincinnati-based team with $1.3 billion in assets under management.

The private wealth team, formerly of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, is the first in Ohio for the New York City-based Rockefeller and its 49th team across the U.S.

Founded in 1977 by Ross Hambleton Sr., the Hambleton Fieler Group is led by Ross Hambleton Jr., managing director and private wealth advisor, and Michael Fieler, managing director and private wealth advisor. The team also include Matthew Hambleton, managing director and private wealth advisor; Andrew Sullivan, vice president and private wealth advisor; Carrie Thomas, vice president and chief investment officer; Margaret Hawk, vice president and team chief operating officer; Marcy Maudlin, lead administrative partner; and Kathleen Stucker, senior client associate.

Most of the team joined Merrill Lynch in 2006 from Citigroup’s Smith Barney. Ross Hambleton started with Smith Barney in 1999, Michael Fieler in 1993 and Matthew Hambleton in 2003. Sullivan joined the group at Merrill Lynch in 2011 after two years with Fifth Third Asset Management.

“The strategic expansion of our private wealth practice enables us to continue offering integrated services to a growing number of clients, and we could not be more excited to introduce these solutions to the Cincinnati market,” Rockefeller's Cincinnati Division Director Michael Parker said in a statement. “Teams like the Hambleton Fieler Group embody the Rockefeller mission and bring decades of combined experience to address the complex needs of wealthy individuals and families with a customized, holistic approach.".

In the past few weeks, Rockefeller Capital Management has expanded into new markets including Newport Beach, Calif.; San Antonio; and Denver.
