Emma is an accomplished investment management professional, board director, community leader and speaker. She is Ariel’s Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, overseeing the administrative functions of legal, compliance, governance, investment operations, and technology, as well as risk oversight for all the firm’s entities, including Ariel Distributors, Ariel Investment Trust and Ariel’s private funds. She is also a member of Ariel’s Operating Committee and serves as Secretary to the firm’s board of directors and the mutual fund’s board of trustees. Prior to joining Ariel in 2023, Emma was the General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Board Secretary of LGIM America, the U.S. arm of the 6th largest asset manager globally. There, she was also a member of the U.S. Executive Committee and the Global Senior Leadership Team. She also served in the DEI Council for Legal & General Group, a U.K. publicly listed company.
